Mr.A.Selvendran, learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice for the respondents. With the consent of both the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. This writ petition has been filed seeking for issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the second respondent herein, the District Revenue Officer, Chengalpattu to dispose of the statutory Appeal dated 30.01.2023 filed by the petitioner, in pursuance of G.O.Ms.No.34, Revenue and Disaster Management [LD 3(1)] Department, dated 13.01.2021 within a time frame.

3. The main grievance of the petitioner is that even though he has Pg.Nos.2/5

filed a statutory appeal on 30.01.2023, the second respondent has not passed final order till date. Hence, the petitioner is constrained to file the present writ petition.

4. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

Since this writ petition is only for a mandamus, to direct the second respondent to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any view or opinion with regard to the merits of the case, directs the second respondent to dispose of the appeal dated 30.01.2023 on merits and in accordance with law, after giving due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as interested parties/rival claimants/objectors/aggrieved parties if any, as the case may be, if no orders is passed till date. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Pg.Nos.3/5

6. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
