2. The present writ petition, styled as public interest litigation, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, has been filed seeking direction to Respondents 1 to 5 to remove the encroachment made by the 6th Respondent and others in the Government Pathway Porampoke

land in Survey No.219/1A3 situated at Aththiyur, Thirukkai Village, Vikravandi Taluk, Villupuram District and consider the petitioner representation dated 06.09.2025.

3. Learned Government Advocate for the respondents, on instructions, submitted that based on the representation of the petitioner, the Taluk Surveyor has conducted a survey and submitted a report to the second respondent / Tahsildar, Vikravandi Taluk. As per the survey report, ten persons have been found to encroach the subject mentioned land and the same is being used for the purpose of cultivation. Pursuant thereto, on 07.03.2026 the second respondent Tahsildar has already invoked the provisions of Land Encroachment Act and issued show cause notices under Section 7 of the Act granting them 15 days time to respond. Based on the replies to be furnished by the encroachers, appropriate action will be initiated in accordance with the provisions of the Act.

4. In view of the aforesaid statement made by the learned Government Advocates and the documents filed in this regard, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent / Tahsildar to complete the proceedings, as expeditiously as possible, and take action against the encroachers in accordance with law.

There shall be no order as to costs.
