ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of Mandamus, to direct the 1st respondent to step up the basic pay of the petitioner to Rs.5900 in the cadre of Sub Inspector of Police and to disburse the arrears with all benefits in the light of G.O.(D).No.3 Home (Police 3) Department dated 04.01.2011.
2. The learned counsel for the writ petitioner submits that the petitioner was promoted to the post of Sub-Inspector of Police in the year 1999 and after promotion, his basic salary is Rs.5,300/-. Therefore, he is entitled to the benefits of the G.O.(D).No.3, Home (Police 3) Department, dated 04.01.2011. Hence, he made a representation on 09.01.2015 to the respondents https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
to rectify the anomaly in pay, but the said representation has not been considered by the respondents. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.
3. The second respondent has filed a counter affidavit stating that a proposal for stepping up of pay of the writ petitioner on par with his junior has been sent to the Director General of Police, Chennai, for obtaining orders from the Government.

In the light of the aforesaid stand taken by the respondent, the writ petition is disposed of directing the 1st respondent to consider the representation dated 09.01.2015, submitted by the petitioner and pass orders thereon, in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
