This writ petition has been filed for issuance of writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to give electricity service connection to the petitioner premises bearing survey No.219/3A, Venbakkam Village, Vengatapuram (Post), Chengalpattu Taluk, Kancheepuram District.

2.The petitioner's request for service connection has not been favourably considered on the premise that there is some objection from the impleaded respondent, viz., Shree Kuppakariamman Koil, represented by Dharmakartha. Secondly, there is one another reason for not considering the request of the petitioner, which is, lack of public approach road for the purpose of erecting pole which would be necessary to give electricity service connection.

3.In such view of the matter, a direction is issued to the first respondent to afford an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and the objector temple and thereafter take a final decision within a period of eight weeks.

4.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
