ORDER

When the contempt petition is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondent has produced a copy of the letter of the Principal Secretary/Commissioner, Urban Land Ceiling & Urban Land Tax, Chennai, dated 19.07.2018, by which, it has been stated that possession of the excess vacant land

measuring an extent of 4350 sq. mt., was handed over to the Revenue Authority on 01.06.1999 i.e., well before the Repeal of the Act on 16.06.1999 and hence, the above land was saved under Section 3(1)(a) of the Repeal Act, 20/1999. therefore, a decision has been made to prefer a Special Leave petition against the order dated 28.04.2014 in W.A.No.695 of 2015.

2. Though as of now, the order of the Division Bench made in W.A.No.695 of 2015 dated 28.04.2015 stands, this Court merely directed the contemnor to pass orders, which has been done so. Therefore, this Court does not find any wilfull disobedience. However, liberty is given to the petitioner to file appropriate petition in the manner known to law seeking any substantive relief. It is made clear that this liberty would also include the challenge to the communication referred above.
