Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents, to consider the petitioners representation dated 13.09.2023, 14.09.2023 & 19.10.2023 regarding allotment of house.

WMP.No.6675 of 2024 filed seeking permission to file a single Writ Petition is ordered on payment of separate Court fee. 2.Ten petitioners are before the Court seeking mandamus directing the respondents being the Tamil Nadu Housing Board/R1 and Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board/R2 to consider representations for allotment of house expeditiously.

3.The petitioners claim that they are all daily labourers, who were residing in and around Pulianthope Housing Board. R2, stating that the Pulianthope Housing Board has to be re-constructed, had shifted the petitioners to Vyasarpadi, where they are presently residing. The plot is opposite to Mullai Nagar Cremation ground.

4.At the time of shifting, they were assured that a new house would be allotted for them in the Housing Board building now under construction in Pulianthope. They claim to be regularly reminding the respondents about their promise but to no avail. Hence, this writ petition. 5.Mr.D.Veerasekaran, learned counsel who accepts notice for R1 points out that under proceedings foj vz;:m/e/nfh-rh;nt-48481991 dated 17.10.2023, their representations have been forwarded by R1 to R2 and in such circumstances, he would submit that the matters are under enquiry and needful will be done expeditiously. 6.Mandamus is thus issued to R2 to consider the representations of the petitioners expeditiously and pass orders thereupon after hearing them within a period of two (2) weeks from date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7.This writ petition is disposed. No costs.
