O R D E R

The petitioner has filed the above Writ Petition to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 18.02.2013.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that he has given a representation dated 18.02.2013 seeking to cancel the patta issued in favour of some other person in respect of the land in Survey Nos.132/15 and 132/16, therefore, the patta should be issued in his favour.

3. Ms. A. Madhumathi,, learned Special Government Pleader, appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 submitted that the petitioner had filed an appeal before the District Revenue Officer under section 12 of the Patta Pass Book Act and the appeal is still pending.

4. In view of the submissions made by the learned Special Government Pleader, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the District Revenue Officer, Ariyalur, to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner seeking to cancel the patta issued in respect of the land in Survey Nos.132/15 and 132/16, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With these observations, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
