Service Connection in favour of the petitioner pertaining to the property situated at Door No.9, 2nd Street, Mannadiamman Kovil Street, Adambakkam, Chennai-600 088.

ORDER

The writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent to issue a new residential E.B. Service Connection in favour of the petitioner pertaining to the property situated at Door No.9, 2nd Street, Mannadiamman Kovil Street, Adambakkam, Chennai-600 088.

2.Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that though the petitioner has been residing in the above said property and paying the property tax for the same and also paying water charges for the Chennai Metropolitan Sewerage Board, till date there was no separate residential service connection. Therefore, the petitioner made an application to issue a new residential E.B. Service connection in her favour pertaining to the above address, enclosing tax receipts and other relevant documents such as Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Gas connection receipt. In this regard, she sent a representation to the respondent on 25.03.2018. Though the same was received, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

there is no response from them. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.

3.Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that the petitioner has not furnished the requisite documents. Therefore, if the petitioner comes forward with a new application along with a patta copy, sale deed executed in her favour, present tax receipts and gas connection receipt, the respondent will consider the case of the petitioner and if the petitioner is a joint owner of the property, No Objection Certificate from the other joint owners should also be produced. 4.Therefore, the petitioner is directed to give a fresh application seeking electricity service connection to her property along with the above said documents. On receipt of the same, the respondent shall provide electricity connection within a period of four weeks thereafter.

5.With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
