Respondent Prayer : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India to issue a writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for the records culminating into the impugned order bearing Na.Ka.No.828/2020/A6 dated 10.02.2021 passed by the respondent and quash the same as illegal and consequently direct e respondent to issue the certificate to the effect that the father of the petitioner had two names that is Mariappan and Muniappan.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed challenging the order passed by the respondent thereby rejected the request made by the petitioner to include his father's alias name.

2. The petitioner's father name was called as Muniappan and also known as Mariappan in the known circle of persons. While he purchase punja land at Pavithram Village, situated at Karur Taluk, during the year 1987 and also in some of the records his name was indicated as Muniappan. The Aadhar Card issued to the petitioner's brother carries his father's name as Muniappan. In order to rectify the same, the petitioner submitted representation before the respondent to add alias name as Muniappan as his father's name. The respondent found that the petitioner failed to prove his father's name as Mariappan @ Muniappan. That apart, the petitioner's father died twenty years back and thereafter the petitioner submitted representation to change the records as his father's name as Marippan @ Muniappan. Therefore, the respondent rightly rejected the representation made by the petitioner dated 20.11.2019.

3. In view of the above, this court cannot find any infirmity or illegality in the order passed by the respondent dated 10.02.2021. However, the petitioner is at liberty to approach Civil Court for getting appropriate relief. Hence, this writ petition is devoid of merits and liable to be dismissed. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed.
