This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking to quash the First Information Report in Crime No.14 of 2024 pending investigation on the file of first respondent.
2. Heard Mr.D.Veerasekharan, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.A.Damodaran, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for first respondent.
3. Learned counsel for petitioner submitted that already a compromise has been arrived at between the petitioner and the second respondent and the entire amount has been paid to the second respondent. To substantiate the same, the affidavit of the second respondent and also the Memorandum of Understanding entered into between the parties was placed before this Court.
4. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, submitted that the second respondent has also sent a communication to the police stating that the matter has been compromised between the parties. 2/4
5. In the light of the above development, no useful purpose will be served in keeping the First Information Report in Crime No.14 of 2024 on the file of first respondent.
Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is allowed and the First Information Report in Crime No.14 of 2024 on the file of first respondent is hereby quashed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
