ORDER
The present Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police not to harass the petitioner under the guise of enquiry.

The case of the petitioner is that under the pretext of conducting an enquiry in connection with the existing civil dispute with one Sampanki/de facto complainant, the respondent Police are unnecessarily harassing him. 3.
The learned counsel for the de facto complainant submitted that the de facto complainant had lodged a complaint on 03.03.2026 for cheating of an amount of Rs.10,00,000/- along with the supporting documents. 4.
The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, submitted that on receipt of a complaint from one Sampanki, the second respondent police called the petitioner for enquiry but the petitioner was not available and he has been evading service of summons. 5.
Now, the learned counsel for the petitioner, on instructions, submitted that the petitioner is ready to appear before the second respondent police on 16.03.2026.

Considering the submissions made on either side, this Court directs both the petitioner and the de facto complainant to appear before the second respondent on 16.03.2026 along with supporting documents and co-operate in the enquiry. It is made clear that the petitioner shall not be harassed during the course of enquiry. If any cognizable offence is made out, the respondent Police shall register First Information Report and proceed in accordance with law. 7.
With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
