Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India praying to issue Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent No.4 to treat the M.Sc (Applied Biology (Zoology) issued by the 5th respondent University is equivalent to M.Sc., (Zoology) for the purpose of employment in so far as it relates to the petitioner and further direct the 4th respondent to appoint the petitioner as Post Graduate Assistant under the subject category M.Sc., Zoology vide petitioner's Roll No.12PG07150052 and CV No.1687 for the year 2011-2012. This Writ Petition has been filed for direction directing the fourth respondent to treat the M.Sc., Applied Biology (Zoology) issued by the fifth respondent University is equivalent to M.Sc., (Zoology) for the purpose of employment in so far as it relates to the petitioner and 2/5

direct the fourth respondent to appoint the petitioner as Post Graduate Assistant under the subject category M.Sc., (Zoology).

Heard Mr.R.Arumugam, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mr.L.S.M.Hasan Fizal, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 & 2, Mr.R.Bharanidaran, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the third respondent, Mr.Alagu Goutham, learned Government Advocate appearing for the fourth respondent, Mr.Ma.Pa.Thangavel, learned counsel appearing for the fifth respondent and perused the materials available on record.

3. It is seen that the entire selection process is over as on 18.01.2013. After the said selection process, the equivalence of Post Graduate Degree (Applied Biology) with Post Graduate Degree (Zoology) was issued in G.O.Ms.No.72 Higher Education (K2) Department, dated 30.04.2013. Therefore, nothing survives in this writ petition and is liable to be dismissed.

4. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
