The instant Writ Petition has been filed challenging the impugned order dated 03.10.2018, passed by the respondent, wherein the petitioner has been downgraded from the post of Statistical Inspector to the post of Assistant on the ground that he did not qualify in the Departmental Examination.

2. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent, on instructions from the Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Economics and Statistics dated 22.11.2022, would submit that, subsequent to the order of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, it was proposed to the Government that, for the post of Statistical Inspector, it is not necessary to qualify the Departmental Examination.

3. Recording the submission made by the learned Government Advocate, and placing on record the communication of the Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Economics and Statistics dated 22.11.2022, this Court quashes the impugned order dated 03.10.2018 passed by the respondent.

4. In the result, this Writ Petition is allowed. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
