J U D G M E N T

(Judgment of the Court was delivered by S.M.Subramaniam J.) Writ Order dated 27.11.2023 passed in W.P.No.33336 of 2023 is under challenge in this writ proceedings. Writ Petitioner is the appellant herein.

2. Appellant participated in the process of selection for appointment to the post of Salesman in a Fair Price Shop run by Cooperative Society. Since petitioner did not fall within the zone of consideration, she was not selected. The Joint Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Tiruvannamalai District intimated the said fact to appellant vide Letter dated 30.10.2023. Challenging the same, Writ Petition came to be filed.

3. Writ Court considered the fact that appellant has not secured the cut of mark and was not within the zone of consideration and dismissed the writ petition.

4. Pertinently, the selection was to the post of Salesman in the Co-operative Society. No writ will lie against Co-operative Society in view of the ratio laid down by a Larger Bench of this Court in the case of

K.Marappan vs. The Deputy Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Namakkal and another 1 . That apart, appellant was not within the zone of consideration and not selected.

5. Thus, this Court does not find any infirmity in respect of the order of Writ Court. Consequently, the present Writ Appeal is dismissed. No costs.
