J U D G M E N T

(Judgment of the Court was delivered by R.SUBRAMANIAN, J.) The Writ Petition filed by the petitioner challenging the termination was dismissed solely on the ground that there is an appellate remedy available before the General Manager, Archbishop of Pondicherry and Cuddalore.

2. When alternative remedy is available, the writ Court was justified in dismissing the Writ Petition with liberty to move the appellate Authority. We do not see any reason to interfere with the discretion exercised by the learned Single Judge.

3. Therefore, the Writ Appeal fails and it is accordingly dismissed. We extend the time for filing the appeal for a period of four weeks from today. If the petitioner chooses to file an appeal within four weeks from today, the appellate Authority will consider the same on merits without questioning on limitation. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
