For Petitioners : Mr.R.Jayaprakash For Respondent : Ms.Akila Rajendran Government Advocate COMMON ORDER The prayer sought for herein is for a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to issue patta in the name of the petitioners for the property measuring 1100 sq.ft and 350 sq.ft respectively bearing Door No.40A, Sarathy Nagar Main Road, Velachery, Chennai - 600 042 comprised in Old Survey No.246 part and New Survey No.246/6 in Velachery Village by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 28.12.2022.

In respect of property at Survey No.246 part and New Survey No.246/6 situated at Sarathy Nagar Main Road, Velachery, Chennai - 600 042, it is the claim of the petitioners that N.P.Raghavan, who is the father of Dr.R.Sampath had settled a portion of the property in favour of Dr.R.Sampath and retained the remaining portion of the property with him. Therefore, in order to get patta for the settled property in favour of Dr.R.Sampath and for the retained property in favour of the father i.e., N.P.Raghavan, who are the respective petitioners in these writ petitions they gave representation on 28.12.2022 to the respondent Tahsildar and 2/5

in order to consider the said representation these two writ petitions have been filed by the son and father.

3. Heard Mr.R.Jayaprakash, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and Ms.Akila Rajendran, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent.

4. Learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent would submit that the said representation submitted by the petitioners would be considered and decided by the respondent Tahsildar on merits and in accordance with law within a time frame that may be stipulated by this Court.

Considering the said submission made by the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent, this Court directs the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 28.12.2022 and decide the same on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight(8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
