O R D E R

The present Criminal Original Petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents to give police protection to the petitioner and her minor child Rithika to be with her ailing husband U.S.Ram Kumar.

2.The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner seeking police protection to her and her minor child to be with her ailing husband at the Apollo hospital, Teynampet.

He further submits that she got married one Mr.U.S.Ramkumar on 26.06.2013 and due to the wedlock, they gave birth to a female child on 23.10.2014. Thereafter, the petitioner has been subjected to cruelty in the hands of her in laws. In this circumstances, her husband is ailing from Rectum Cancer, second stage and right now, he is lying bedridden at Apollo Hospital, Teynampet. In the meanwhile, she also lodged a complaint against her in laws, which was registered as Crime No.1734 of 2018, for the offences under Sections 323 of IPC r/w Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Woman Act, 2002. Therefore, she sought for police protection.

3.Heard Mr.M.Guruprasad, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.M.Mohamed Riyaz, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.

4.Considering the facts and circumstances of this case, the petitioner is directed to submit a representation to the 3rd respondent forthwith and on receipt of the same, the 3rd respondent is directed to consider the request made by the petitioner on the same day and provide adequate police protection to her and her minor daughter to visit her husband at Apollo Hospital, Teynampet and to be with him to take care of her husband at the Apollo Hospital, Teynampet. 5.With the above direction, this Crl.O.P.No.5334 of 2019 is disposed of.
