ORDER

(Made by Dr.ANITA SUMANTH, J.) The daughter of one N.Muniratinam (detenu), S/o.Nadesan, aged 87 years has approached this Court aggrieved by the inaction of the authorities on her complaint lodged on 22.04.2025 for man-missing.

2. She avers that the detenu was missing from her house from 22.04.2025 onwards but nothing has been done thus far to locate him. However, despite the fact that her father was missing from April 2025, the habeas corpus petition has been instituted only now, in March 2026.

3. A status report has been filed by learned Additional Public Prosecutor chronicling the efforts taken to locate him.

4. We note that it is not the case of the petitioner that her father has been illegally detained. She also does not state in the affidavit that the authorities are not taking any steps to locate him.

5. In light of the aforesaid and convinced that the authorities are taking necessary steps to do the needful to locate the detenu based on the efforts set out in the status report, we do not see any reason to keep the habeas corpus petition pending any longer. We urge the police authorities to continue with their efforts and do the needful to locate the detenu at the earliest.

6. This habeas corpus petition is closed with the aforesaid directions. No costs.
