O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the first respondent to issue a new passport to the petitioner by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 05.12.2025, in accordance with law.

2. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner applied for new passport vide Application No.MA4065031628523 and due to criminal case pending against him, the first respondent refused to issue the new passport and the petitioner submitted his explanation in person, however, no action was taken. Hence, the petitioner has made a representation to the first respondent on 05.12.2025, however, the said representation has not been considered so far. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if the first respondent is directed to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 05.12.2025 on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period.

4. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the learned Central Government Standing Counsel appearing for the first respondent and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the second respondent.

5. In view of the limited request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 05.12.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
