Writ Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for the issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to adhere the existing ratio fixed for appointment to the category of Forest Guard as per G.O.Ms.No.145, Environment and Forest (FR-II) Department dated 10.05.1995 and to desist from making any further promotion in the 60% ratio reserved for Direct recruitment within a stipulated time period.

It is the grievance of the petitioners that employees working as Forest Watchers were recruited as Forest Guards by giving them benefits of earlier service rendered by them. situated employees were placed below them and thereby denying them due promotion. The petitioners have given representations to the respondents on 28.10.2014. However, there was no follow up action taken by the respondents resulting in filing these writ petitions.

2. The first respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the representations submitted by the petitioners dated 28.10.2014 on merits and in accordance with the order in G.O.Ms.No.145, Environmental and Forest Department dated 10.05.1995. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

3. The writ petitions are disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
