ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus seeking a direction against the 2nd respondent to consider the representation given by the petitioner on 06.02.2025 seeking implementation of G.O.Ms.No.187 Finance (Pay Cell) Department dated 21.05.2002 so far as the petitioner is concerned.

2.In the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition, it had been contended that the petitioner had been employed in Ariyalur Panchayat Union, Ariyalur District and had been originally appointed as Fitter Grade - II and joined service in the year 1983. He claims that he was entitled to further scale of pay as determined in G.O.Ms.No.187 Finance (Pay Cell) Department dated 21.05.2002, during the relevant period from 01.06.1998. Claiming that he had been prejudiced by non-application of the provisions of the aforementioned Government order to him, the petitioner had given a representation on 06.02.2025 and by this writ petition seeks a mandamus against the 2nd respondent to consider the application of the provisions of

the said Government order to the petitioner.

3.Heard the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

4.A direction is given to the 2nd respondent to examine the service record of the petitioner and also examine whether G.O.Ms.No.187 Finance (Pay Cell) Department dated 21.05.2022 would be applicable to the petitioner and if it is applicable, apply the provisions to the petitioner and grant necessary benefits accordingly. The entire exercise must be completed within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
