Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 4 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 9.2.2018 and to take necessary action to protect the forest land comprised in Survey Nos.657 and 668, situated in Uthayamarthandam Village, Thiruthuraipoondi Taluk, Thiruvarur District by restraining the fifth respondent from changing the nature of the land by establishing a poultry farm.

ORDER

(Order of the court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) We have heard Mr.P.Sesubalan Raja, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mrs.R.Anitha, learned Special Government Pleader for respondents 1 to 4.

2. Learned Special Government Pleader, on instruction from the Tahsildar, Muthupet, submits that the writ survey numbers were classified as Government poramboke (Vanam). As the villagers have made agitation against the establishment of poultry farm, it

was stopped and evicted by the Forest Department. At present, the above said survey numbers are free from encroachment.

3. In view of the said statement made by learned Special Government Pleader, the writ petition is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs. Consequently, W.M.P.No.8345 of 2018 is closed.
