ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for direction directing the first respondent to pass appropriate orders on the proposal of the Salem City Municipal Corporation sent to the first respondent in Na.Ka.No.C2 / 18634 / 2022 dated 06.02.2023 within a reasonable period as may be fixed by this Honorable Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

3. It is seen from the records that the proposal sent by the third respondent is pending on the file of the first respondent for the reason that pendency of writ petition in W.P.No.12706 of 2020 and the interim order of stay. Now, W.P.No.12706 of 2020 is disposed of, by an order dated 28.02.2024. Therefore, there is absolutely no impediment for the

first respondent to consider the proposal sent by the third respondent to promote the petitioner to the post of Administrative Officer/Accounts Officer.

4. In view of the above, the first respondent is directed to consider the proposal sent by the third respondent dated 06.02.2023 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
