This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the second respondent to consider the OnLine application submitted by the petitioner on 24.07.2023 wherein the petitioner has sought for issuance of patta in his name with respect to the subject property.

2. Heard Mr.B.Devakumar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.R.Gokulkrishnan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for respondents.

3. The petitioner is claiming right and title over the subject property through a registered settlement deed dated 02.06.2022. The specific case of the petitioner is that the property in question is an ancestral property and that none of the predecessor in interest were issued any patta. In view of the same, the petitioner submitted an OnLine application on 24.07.2023 seeking for patta. The petitioner also submitted a manual application on 19.06.2024 and even thereafter, he made a representation to the respondents. Since the same did not evoke any response, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court seeking for appropriate direction.

4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the 2/4

case and the materials placed before this Court, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to deal with the OnLine application submitted by the petitioner on 24.07.2023 on its own merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
