This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the second respondent to dispose of the appeal/ representation filed by the petitioner on 07.01.2025 against the order passed by the third respondent dated 11.05.2023.
2. Heard Mr.S.Arokia Mani Raj, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.M.R.Gokulkrishnan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1 to 4.
3. The grievance of the petitioner is that based on the report submitted by the fourth respondent dated 27.10.2022, the third 2/4
respondent through proceedings dated 11.05.2023 cancelled the patta that stood in the name of the petitioner's grandfather. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner filed an appeal/representation before the second respondent on 28.06.2024 and also on 05.08.2024 questioning the proceedings of the third respondent and to re-assign the subject property in favour of the legal heirs. Since the same was not considered, the petitioner once again sent a reminder on 07.01.2025. The same also did not evoke any response. It is under these circumstances, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court seeking for appropriate directions.
4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the materials placed before this Court, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to deal with the representations made by the petitioner on 28.06.2024 and 05.08.2024 after affording opportunity to the fifth respondent and pass orders on its own merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
