ORDER

Alleging that the order passed by this Court dated 25.08.2015 is not complied with, the present Contempt Petition has been filed.

2. The learned Special Government Pleader today produced a communication sent by the Contemnor, namely, the District Collector, Chennai District, Chennai, by way of letter No.G3/26326/2009 dated 08.06.2016, indicating that

the sum of Rs.2,41,000/- has been paid after giving due deduction to the total sum of Rs.3,20,918/-, by taking note of the sum of Rs.80,000/- paid already to the petitioner.

3. Now, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that though the said amount has been paid belatedly, the interest has not been paid.

4. The said statement cannot be a ground for contempt.

5. If the petitioner is of the view that the recovery made is not in full compliance, it is well open to him to work out the remedy as this Court does not find any wilful disobedience on the part of the respondent.

6. In such view of the matter, the Contempt Petition is closed giving liberty to the petitioner to work out his remedy in the manner known to law.
