Today, when these matters were taken up for hearing, Mr.R.Neelakandan, learned Additional Advocate General, producing a copy of G.O. (Ms.) No.44, Environment, Climate Change and Forests (FR.2(i)) Department dated 03.03.2023, submitted that the services of the employees have been regularised, as a special case, and that the monetary benefits would be extended from the date of completion of ten years. In a riposte, the learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that only sanction has been accorded for allowing the monetary benefits from the date of completion of ten years, vide the aforesaid Government Order, and that the monetary benefits have not yet been paid to the petitioners.

cad Having regard to the submissions made on either side, this Court directs the Government to release the monetary benefits from the date of completion of ten years, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. We make it clear that in case, the monetary benefits are not paid to the petitioners within a period of two months, it is open to them to bring it to the notice of this Court by initiating a fresh contempt proceedings.
