Heard Mr. B.Thirumalai, Learned Counsel for the Petitioner, Mrs. Sowmi Dattan, Learned Counsel for the First Respondent and Mrs. R.Anitha, Learned Special Government Pleader for the Second Respondent and perused the materials placed on record, apart from the pleadings of the parties. 2.

The Petitioner had participated in the recruitment for selection to the post of Grade-II Police Constable for the year 2022. Her height measured 169.4 c.m. in physical measurement and 169.5 c.m. in appeal. 3.

The Writ Petition has been filed challenging the communication dated 06.02.2023 issued by the First Respondent disqualifying the Petitioner in that selection process. This Court during the earlier hearing on 06.04.2023 required the Respondents to take re-measurement of the height of the Petitioner and file report in that regard. In furtherance to that order, a report dated 11.04.2023 has been filed by the Respondents, which reads as follows:- " 5. It is submitted that in compliance to the above interim order, an endorsement was sent to Petitioner instructing him to report of TNUSRB on 11.04.2023 at 11.00 am for re-measurement of height. On 11.04.2023, the Petitioner 2/5

appeared at the Board for re-measurement of his height. The Petitioner was measured as 170.5 c.m. using a Digital Height Measurement Device. The required height for MBC/DNC being 170 cms, he has been qualified in the height measurement test. The same has been acknowledged by the Petitioner through a letter dated 11.04.2023. 6.

It is submitted that since the Petitioner had qualified in the height re-measurement test, the subsequent stages namely Endurance Test and Physical Efficiency Test shall be conducted for him along with pregnant women candidates in the last week of August 2023."

In view of the aforesaid subsequent events, nothing remains for further consideration in the Writ Petition.

In fine, the Writ Petition is disposed. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. No costs.
