This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking to direct the respondents not to harass the petitioner

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents. 1/3

When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor reports that the petitioner is arrayed as an accused in (i) Crime No.649 of 2013 under Section 294(b) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC); (ii) Crime No.74 of 2020 under Sections 294(b) & 323 of the IPC read with Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act; (iii) Crime No.820 of 2021 under Sections 294(b) and 326 of the IPC read with Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act; and (iv) Crime No.475 of 2023 under Sections 147, 294(b) and 506(i) of the IPC read with Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act and the investigation is pending before the second respondent.

4. Under such circumstances, once the regular FIRs have been registered, the question of "Not to harass" will not arise. Any direction issued by this Court at this stage will amount to interfering with the investigation conducted by the second respondent.
