2. The petitioner is a retired Inspector of Police, who was retired from service on 28.02.2014. The said letter was replied only on 02.05.2024 by the respondents stating that the Service Register of the petitioner was missing and thereafter, by letter dated 01.10.2024, he was intimated that his Service Register
was destroyed due to unprecedented floods in Chennai and a criminal case is registered in that regard.
3. Pursuing the matter further, the petitioner submitted another representation to the first respondent on 12.11.2024, which was replied stating that a duplicate Service Register would be reconstructed as per G.O.Ms.No.419 of 2020 and the petitioner has submitted all the requisite details, taking reference from the person who had joined and retired along with him on 10.11.2025. He also submitted further documents by his letter dated 04.07.2025. However, till date no action is taken by the respondents, which triggered the petitioner to approach this Court.

6. The learned Additional Government Pleader for respondents 1 and 2 and the learned counsel for the third respondent have no objection for such an order being passed by this Court.
7. In view of the limited request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 04.07.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
8. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
