This Writ Petition is filed seeking for a direction to the respondents 1 to 4 to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 04.12.2025 seeking relinquishment of promotion.
2. The case of the petitioner is that he is working as Superintendent in the respondents Department. His next avenue of promotion under the nontechnical side is Motor Vehicle Inspector (Non-Technical) and his name was included in the promotion panel by proceedings dated 27.11.2025. However, due to his personal family issues and medical condition, he requested for relinquishment of his promotion by letter dated 04.12.2025 which is pending consideration. The petitioner has joined in the present place on 31.12.2025.
The grievance of the petitioner is that his name is not being considered for promotion despite his request for relinquishment of promotion, which has driven the petitioner to approach this Court by way of the present writ petition.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if the respondents are directed to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 04.12.2025 on merits and in accordance with law, within a specific period.
4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents has no objection for such an order being passed by this Court.
5. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.
6. In view of the limited request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 04.12.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
