ORDER

The writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents to consider the claim of the petitioner for promotion as Assistant Engineer without reference to the pending criminal case in S.C.No.5 of 2002 on the file of the Additional District Judge cum Special Judge, Perambalur and promote the petitioner as Assistant Engineer and grant him all consequential service and monetary benefits.

Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner seeks permission of this Court to withdraw the present petition. He has also made an endorsement in the Court bundle to that effect.
