This writ petition has been filed, seeking a direction to the second respondent to consider the name of the petitioner for the post of Panchayat Secretary and to issue appointment order based on the proceedings of the 1st respondent in Oo.Mu.No.4176/2020/E2 dated 16.09.2020 in the Nedumbalam Panchayat, Thiruthuraipoondi Taluk, Thiruvarur District.

2. Mr.P.V.Selvakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for R1 and Mr.Perumal, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for R2 & R3. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3.

When the matter is taken up for hearing, Mr.P.V.Selvakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent submitted that even though the selection process has been completed, no one has been appointed and that the case of the petitioner has also been considered. Process is yet to be completed and once a decision is taken, the outcome of the decision, viz., selection or rejection, will be duly intimated to the petitioner.

4. In view of the submissions made by Mr.P.V.Selvakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader for the first respondent the relief sought for by the petitioner as such cannot be granted, as the main grievance of the petitioner is that the 2nd Respondent has not declared the results of the selected candidates in time, despite the fact that the proceedings for selection had commenced as earlier as in 2020 itself.

5. With the above observation, this writ petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently connected miscellaneous petition is also closed.
