This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 29.05.2024 seeking bail in Crime No.99 of 2024 registered for the offence under Section 392 of IPC. 1/4
2. The case of the prosecution is that, petitioner waylaid the defacto complainant and snatched her 13 sovereign gold chain. Hence, the case.
3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that, petitioner is in custody from 29.05.2024 and since further custody is not required, the petitioner may be released on bail.
4. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that the petitioner is an habitual offendor and there are 32 similar previous cases pending against him.
5. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the respondent Police and perused the materials available on record.
6. Considering, the fact that the petitioner is an habitual offendor and 2/4
there are several previous cases pending against him, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
