This petition has been filed to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 13.02.2018. 2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner; the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents and perused the materials placed on record.

3. The petitioner's son is a life convict and is undergoing life imprisonment in Central Prison, Cuddalore. While so, the petitioner has given a general representation dated 13.02.2018 seeking remission and thereafter, filed the present writ petition for a direction to the respondent to dispose of her representation.
4.In the opinion of this Court, there is no statutory duty cast upon the respondents to dispose of such representations. Remission is granted to a prisoner in the usual course subject to his eligibility under the rules. If any specific case of discrimination is meted out to the petitioner, it is always open to the petitioner to approach this Court citing the same. In the absence of any such discrimination, a general request for remission cannot be entertained without anything more.
