This petition has been filed to direct the respondent herein to provide police protection to the petitioner herein and his family members.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the State.

3. It is the case of the petitioner that though he has got necessary permission from the revenue authorities to dig a well, one Panneerselvam, is obstructing the petitioner. In this regard, the petitioner has lodged a complaint, based on which petition enquiry is pending in CSR No.144/2016.

4. Under such circumstances, the respondent police is directed to conduct enquiry in accordance with law and provide police protection to the petitioner, if he has necessary permission.
