(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) This public interest litigation has been filed alleging encroachment on A.Kurumbur Periya Lake (Survey No.48 measuring to an extent of 114 acres 8 cents) and Arasampoondi Lake (Survey No.10), streams (survey No.42/2, 47/2, 54/2, 54/3), Grama Natham Street, A.Kurumbur (Survey Number 51/6, 159/9, 166/4, 161/1, 162/2, 160/4, 162/10, 161/18, 162/1, 162/13, 163/8, 163/12, 164/20, 165/1, 165/2, 165/3, 165/3, 165/14, 166/1, 167/1, 169/1, 169/10, 170/1, 52/1, 52/2, 52/3, 52/4, 52/5, situated at A.Kurumbur Panchayat, Thirunavalur Panchayat Union, Ulundurpet Taluk, Villupuram District.
2. We find that petitioner has made a representation on 10.02.2026.
3. Since an allegation of widespread encroachment has been made on more than 100 acres, a survey is required to be conducted to verify the correctness of the complaint of alleged encroachment.
We direct respondent authorities to conduct survey, verify the allegations and if any encroachment is found, to take appropriate action for removal of encroachment.
