Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 6 to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 30.09.2019 to initiate action to remove the illegal encroachment made by respondents 7 to 10 in Survey Nos.273/1, 273/2, 273/4, of Aathanachery Village, Sriperumbadur Taluk, Kancheepuram District. ORDER

(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard Mr.R.Bharanidharan, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.A.Edwin Prabakar, learned State Government Pleader for respondents 1 to 6 and Mr.S.Raman, learned counsel for respondents 7 to 10.

2. Compliance report is filed by the fifth respondent. It is submitted by the learned State Government Pleader that notice under Section 7 of the Tamil Nadu Land Encroachment Act, 1905 was issued to the encroachers on 22.04.2022. Thereafter, order was passed under Section 6 of the Tamil Nadu Land Encroachment Act, 1905 on 13.06.2022. The appeal filed under Section 10 of the Tamil Nadu Land Encroachment Act, 1905 was rejected on 01.09.2022 and all the encroachments have been removed on the same date, i.e., on 01.09.2022.

3. In view of the compliance report, the writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. (S.V.G., CJ.) (D.B.C., J.) 18.03.2024 Index :
