O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for direction to the respondents to include the petitioner's name in the list for selection of candidates to the post of Grade-II Police Constable. 2.

The petitioner applied to the post of Grade-II Police Constable in the year 1992-1993. The petitioner had appeared for physical fitness and written examination. Though he was provisionally selected by respondents 2 and 3, he was not selected to the post of Grade-II Police Constable.

The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that though the petitioner was selected provisionally, on police verification, he was not coming under the zone of selection and as such, he was not selected to the post of Grade-II Police Constable.

That apart, the petitioner participated in the selection of 2/4

Grade-II Police Constable of the year 1992-1993, whereas he submitted representation and filed this writ petition only in the year 2012. Therefore, the prayer sought for in this writ petition cannot be considered. As such, this writ petition is devoid of merits and liable to be dismissed.

Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
