The petitioner apprehends arrest for the alleged offence under Sections 4(1)(A) and 4(1)(C) of Tamil Nadu Prohibition (Amendment) Act, 2024, in Crime No.206 of 2025 on the file of the respondent police seeks anticipatory bail.

The case of the prosecution is that on 02.12.2025 at about 8.00 p.m., when the respondent police were on regular patrol duty, they found the petitioner in illegal possession of 84 liquor bottles and the same was sold to the general public for his personal gain. Hence, a case has been registered against the petitioner.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that this being a second anticipatory bail application, and the same may be considered, and since the dismissal of the earlier application is almost two months ago, he prays to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. Per contra, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent stoutly opposed the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner on the ground that the petitioner has 32 previous cases and that there is no change in circumstances.

5. The contention of the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) is well merited. Hence, this Court finds no merits in the present petition. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 04.03.2026 DRL 2/4
