ORDER

The petitioner challenges the notice dated 30.12.2024 issued by the 1st respondent, whereby the constitution of an interim committee was proposed and also the consequential notice of the 2nd respondent dated 06.01.2025 inviting applications for being appointed as members of the interim committee.

2. According to the petitioner, he served as Mutawali since 2023 and after three years period, he along with other members were re-elected on 08.10.2023 for a further period of three years. The 3rd respondent had raised objections to the manner in which selection was made and filed a suit before the Sub Court, Vaniyambadi against the petitioner and others claiming damages on the ground that his reputation was spoiled in the meeting conducted on 08.10.2023. The 3rd respondent had also filed a complaint before the respondents 1 and 3 alleging irregularities in the manner in which the selection was made. The official respondents called Page No.2 of 4

for explanation from the petitioner and not being satisfied with the same, issued the above notice for setting up an interim committee and subsequent notice calling for applications. Aggrieved by the same, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. When the matter was taken up for hearing today, it was brought to the notice of this Court by the learned counsel for the respondents 1 and 2 that the resolution has now been passed for the formation of final committee and therefore, the prayer in effect has become infructuous.

4. Taking into consideration of the further developments, this Writ Petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to challenge the outcome of the proceedings before the appropriate forum, if he is aggrieved. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
