Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of Mandamus directing respondents 3 & 5 to pass an order for sanction of solatium under the Disaster Response Fund announced by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to the petitioner for the loss of her father in the Vardah Storm disaster.

The relief sought for in this writ petition is to direct the respondents 3 & 5 to pass an order for sanction of solatium under the Disaster Response Fund announced by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to the petitioner for the loss of her father in the Vardah Storm Disaster.
2.According to the petitioner, on 12.12.2016, her father died in Vartha storm disaster. Pursuant to the announcement made by the Government about grant of compensation of Rs.4,00,000/- to each, who lost their lives in Vartha Storm disaster from the State Disaster Management Fund, she made a representation dated 14.03.2017 to the fifth respondent, who in turn, forwarded the same to the third respondent for approval and necessary actions. Thereafter, no action was taken on the same. Hence, the petitioner submitted another representation dated 09.12.2019 to the second respondent, which was also not considered. Finding no other option, she has come up with this writ petition for the aforesaid relief.
3.Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if the petitioner's representation dated 14.03.2017 is directed to be considered by the respondents, on merits, within a reasonable time to be fixed by this Court, for which, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents has no serious objection.
4.Having regard to the limited relief now sought by the learned counsel for the petitioner, which has not been seriously opposed on the side of the respondents, this Court directs the respondents 3 & 5 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 14.03.2017 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5.This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
