By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. 2.The petitioner is aged about 65 years. He is skilled in the field of weight lifting and secured first place in the year 1975, 1976 and third place in the year 1985 for 67.500 kg category. The petitioner would further claim that he has also participated in the national level competitions in the year 1977 under the said category when it took place at Burnapur, West Bengal and secured 7th position. The petitioner had worked in the Lakshmi Mills as a coolie to eke out his livelihood and with great difficulty maintaining his family and on coming to know that in respect of persons similarly placed, Government has formulated scheme of pension to destitute best sport persons and he submitted an application as well as representation to https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the Hon'ble Chief Minister Grievance Cell. The respondent, in the letter No.7426/Y1-1/2013, dated 28.05.2013 would state that the respondent has processed the application and placed it before the selection committee. The grievance expressed by the petitioner is that nearly one year has elapsed from the said petition and no orders have been passed and hence came forward to file this writ petition. 3.Heard the submissions of Mr.S.Gopinathan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.R.Vijayakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader who accepts notice for the respondent. 4.

Though the petitioner prayed for a larger relief, this Court in the light of the facts and circumstances, directs the respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's application for pension under destitute best sport persons by taking into consideration the letter dated 28.05.2013 and pass orders as expeditiously as possible and not later than four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision to the petitioner. 5.The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
