Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition has been filed under Section 226 of Constitution of India to issue a writ of certiorarified Mandamus calling for the records pertaining to the impugned order of the 3rd respondent dated 28.02.2020 in Na.Ka.No.02/C3-TPYPS/SLM/2020 and quash the same and consequently direct the respondents to accord permission for conducting the peaceful public meeting on 10.03.2020 at 5 pm near Thamampatti Bus Stand , Thamampatti, Salem District in furtherance of my request dated 29.02.2020. ORDER

This petition has been filed to quash the impugned order dated 28.02.2020 passed by the third respondent .

2. The petitioner gave requisition letter on 03.02.2020 to the 3rd respondent for conducting a public meeting and the same was rejected by the 3rd respondent on 16.02.2020. Again, the petitioner seeks permission to conduct meeting by an another requisition letter dated 18.02.2020 and the 3rd respondent vide proceedings dated 28.02.2020 refused to give permission to conduct the meeting. Now, due to pandemic of Covid-19, the Government of Tamil Nadu Prohibition order is in force. Therefore, such prayer cannot be considered now. Hence, this writ petition is liable to be dismissed.

3. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed. However, the petitioner is at liberty to seek fresh permission after completion of lock down and after lifting the prohibition order passed under Section 144 Cr.P.C.
