When the matter is taken up for hearing, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 submits that though this writ

petition (crl.) has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to grant adequate police protection for conducting a protest on 21.02.2026 at Egmore, permission has already been granted in favour of the petitioner. Hence, no useful purpose will be served in keeping this matter pending.
