With the consent of both parties, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal, as the issue lies in narrow compass.

2. Heard Ms.K.Jenitha, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.N.Inbanathan, learned Government Advocate, who takes notice for the respondents.

The petitioner has come up with this writ petition for the issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents 3 and 4 to consider his representations dated 05.11.2007, 10.4.2010 and 15.4.2014 with regard to alteration of date of birth as 01.1.1957 instead of 01.1.1956 in the Service Book.

4. The petitioner joined in service on 01.9.1982 as Plot Watcher on temporary basis at Keeranur Range, Pudukottai District. Thereafter, his services were regularised as Forest Watcher on regular basis with effect from 08.7.2005 and, he was posted at Gudalur, Nilagiri District. The grievance of the petitioner is that at the time when the Service Register was opened, his date of birth was wrongly entered as 01.01.1956 instead of 01.01.1957. In this regard, the petitioner made a representation dated 05.11.2007, within five years of regularisation of service. Since no order was passed on the said representation, the petitioner has come up with this writ petition.

5. In view of the narrow prayer made, the writ petition is disposed of, directing the respondents 3 and 4 to consider and pass orders on the representations of the petitioner dated 05.11.2007, 10.4.2010 and 15.4.2014 on merits and as per law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
