(The Order of the Court was made by P.Velmurugan, J) This petition has been filed by the petitioner, seeking directions to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 20.01.2026 and consequently to direct the first respondent to consider release of the petitioner's husband by premature release based on the new rules viz. The Tamil Nadu Prison Rules 2024. Considering the limited prayer sought for by the writ petitioner, without expressing any of our views on the merits of the case, we are inclined to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation and pass orders on the same. 2/4
Accordingly, the respondents are directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 20.01.2026 and pass orders on the same on merits in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
