Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed Under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records of the first respondent herein culminating in G.O.(D) No.60 Home (Police 2) Department on the file of the first respondent herein dated 22.01.2016 and quash the same and consequently direct the respondents herein to promote the petitioner herein from the post of Inspector of Police to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police within the time frame to be fixed by this Hon'ble Court.

The learned counsel for the petitioner made a submission that the writ petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking promotion to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police. Unfortunately, the petitioner was terminated from service during the pendency of the writ petition. Thus, the relief lost its relevance. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of as infructuous. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
