This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent police not to harass the petitioner.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that petitioner is the wife of one Jayaraman. Jayaraman had been harassing and committing cruelty against the petitioner and thereafter, she left her husband on 16.02.2023. It appears that, her husband gave a complaint against the petitioner stating that his wife is missing. On the basis of the said complaint, respondent police is harassing the petitioner. He further submitted that, in this regard, petitioner had given a representation dated 25.02.2023 before the respondents.

3. In response, the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that petitioner's husband Jayaraman gave a complaint stating that his wife Krishnaveni is missing frome 16.02.2023. Therefore, respondent police started enquiring the whereabouts of the petitioner and there is no harassment. 2/4

In the said circumstances, respondent police is directed to enquire into the veracity of the representation dated 25.02.2023 alleged to have been sent by the petitioner that she was harassed and cruelty was perpetrated against her by her husband and investigate the case and file appropriate report. 5.

With the above observations and direction, the Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
