same and consequently direct the respondents to retain the petitioner in Udumalaipettai Depot till the petitioner to attain the age of superannuation on 30.06.2024.

ORDER

The learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that the writ petition was filed challenging the order of transfer. The learned Counsel further submits that pending the writ petition, the petitioner retired from service and therefore, the prayer sought for in the writ petition has become infructuous. However, the learned Counsel for the petitioner prays that a direction may be issued to the respondents to disburse the terminal benefits to the petitioner within the time fixed by this Court.

2. In view of the above submission made by the learned Counsel for the petitioner, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. In any event, this Court directs the respondents to disburse the petitioner's terminal benefits as expeditiously as possible, in any event, within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

3.Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed. No costs. Consequently, connected WMP.No. 6737 of 2022 is closed.
